Initial jobless claims numbers are in, and unexpectedly are higher than economist predictions. How will the Democrats and President Obama spin this news?
US jobless claims hit 386K. Expectations stood on 377K, exactly like the initial report for the previous week. Last week’s figure was revised to the upside: 380K. The situation remains worse than earlier in the year.

Are we getting close to QE3?

Update: More bad news – foreclosures are up.

Update 2: Tonight is Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Wintour’s fundraiser for Obama. Perhaps they should have chosen a day other than Thursday for their little shindig.
