Society is not becoming secularized; we were a secular nation 150 years ago.  The change is better described as moving from secularism in which no religion is ascribed to yet all religious input is welcome to a society in which religion is not welcome and, in fact, rejected.  We are moving from a secularized nation of religious inclusion to an atheocratic nation of religious exclusion.
