Guilford files suit against banks:

GREENSBORO — Guilford County officials filed suit Tuesday against some of the nation’s largest banks after the discovery last year of a practice called “robo-signing” on local mortgage and loan documents.

They said the practice makes it difficult, if not impossible, to trace land titles and it could affect property values for homeowners and businesses.
