The "Barefoot And Pregnant" Campaign of 2012:
Republicans say the measure, under the cloak of battered women, unnecessarily expands immigration avenues by creating new definitions for immigrant victims to claim battery. More important, they say, it fails to put in safeguards to ensure that domestic violence grants are being well spent. It also dilutes the focus on domestic violence by expanding protections to new groups, like same-sex couples, they say.
And the Republicans would be 100% correct. This whole "Republican's are anti-women unless they agree with liberal ideas to expand the role of government" is a
carefully orchestrated campaign to scare female voters to save Obama's ass in November. Going forward, count how many times you hear a liberal claim that Republican's just want women to be "barefoot and pregnant". My guess is that more "barefoot and pregnant" women are Democratic voters, but why let that interfere with a phony narrative that the media has latched on to ?
